2016 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 V8 Ultimate Review - Video

In the US, Hyundai offers a V8-powered version of its Genesis luxury sedan. But Australia - despite its strong history as a nation of V8 lovers - does not get the powered-up version.
So, what's under the bonnet? It's a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine producing 313kW of power and 519Nm of torque, which is about 30 per cent more than the V6 engine currently sold in the Genesis model sold here in Australia.
The US model tested here - the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate - gets additional safety equipment over the Aussie model, too, including rear cross-traffic alert and active lane-keeping assistance.
What it misses out on, though, is the brilliant Australian steering and suspension tune, which transforms the car sold here into a brilliantly confident and competent driver's car.
So, can the V8 engine account for its dynamic shortcomings? Watch the video to find out.
